Lothar Probst

Professor Lothar Probst studied German, History and Political Science at the Pädagogische Hochschule Bielefeld in the 1970s. He later studied Political Science and Cultural Studies at the Universität Bremen where he received his doctoral degree in 1992. In 1989, he started working at the Universität Bremen, where he serverd as head of the Geman Cultural Studies Department since 1993. He also served as head of the Intercultural and International Studies Department since 2002 before becoming professor in 2007. Between 1996 and 2004, Lothar Probst was on the Members Assembly of the Heinrich Böll Foundation. In this postion, he helped intiating the "Green Academy" to which he belonged between 1999 and 2001 and again since 2004.  Lothar Probst is currently working in the Political Science Department the at the Universität Bremen, Germany. He specializes on topics such as political parties, social movements and  political culture, among others.
