Dr. Simone Peter, Alliance 90/The Greens Parliamentary Deputy Chairman of the Saarland Parliament, and Tabea Rößner, Alliance 90/The Greens Spokeswoman on Media Policy and Demographic Policy will be attending the Battleground Nevada from October 7th-October 11th, a study tour on the 2012 U.S. elections hosted by The Congressional Study Groups.

Biographies:

Dr. Simone Peter (Alliance 90/The Greens)
Party Parliamentary Deputy Chairman and Managing Director, Saarland Parliament
Dr. Simone Peter is a Member of the Parliament of Saarland and former Minister for the Environment, Energy, and Transportation of the German federal state of Saarland. A member of the Green Party, she has served in a number of leadership roles representing her party’s interests for nearly two decades. From 1998-2000, she was Assessor and Chair of the Executive Committee of Alliance 90/The Greens for the Saarbrücken-Mitte local chapter. Concurrently, she served as Environmental and Energy Spokesperson for the State Party Board. In addition, Dr. Peter served as Spokesperson for Energiewende Saar e.V. with a focus on energy
policy from 2000-2009, as well as Spokesperson for the Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft Energie for
The Greens from 2003-2004.

Tabea Rößner (Alliance 90/The Greens)
Spokeswoman on Media Policy and Demographic Policy
Tabea Rößner, MdB (Member of the German Bundestag) was elected to the German Bundestag in 2009 and serves as spokeswoman on media
policy and demographic policy for the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group in the Bundestag. In this role, she advocates for
high-quality, independent news media, which can serve as a source of information and oversight for the democratic system uninfluenced by interest groups and industry. She is a member of the following Bundestag bodies: Study Commission on the Internet and Digital Society, Subcommittee on the New Media, Committee on Cultural and Media Affairs. She is a substitute member of the Committee on Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the Committee on Internal Affairs, a member of Mainz city council and deputy spokeswoman for the Greens group on the council since 2004 and member of the party council of the Rhineland-Palatinate branch of Alliance 90/The Greens since 2006.
