Daphne reported on the various economic and political factors that have allowed Germany to move away from nuclear power and toward a renewable energy future. She compared and contrasted the German experience with that of Denmark. She provided stories and commentary on her findings for a variety of radio shows, as well as for print and TV outlets.
Daphne Wysham is a fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies where she is founder and co-director of the Sustainable Energy and Economy Network, and director of a project which is investigating alternative metrics to the GDP, and how such metrics can be used to build a more sustainable society. She has worked in print, radio and TV journalism over several decades, including as an associate of the Center for Investigative Reporting, as editor of Greenpeace Magazine, and as host of a radio show, Earthbeat, a one-hour weekly broadcast on climate change and environmental issues which she hosted from 2003-2011, and which aired on over 60 radio stations in the U.S. and Canada. Her writings, commentary and analysis have appeared in national news publications and on radio and TV, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Grist, The Guardian, The Financial Times, Mother Jones, The Nation, and on Al Jazeera, Democracy Now!, The Real News Network, RT, MSNBC, BBC, NPR, and Marketplace, among others.
