Joseph Hammond is a reporter with the American Media Institute. A former Cairo correspondent for Radio Free Europe during the 2011 Arab uprisings, he has also reported from four continents on issues ranging from stability in Somalia to the M23 rebellion in the Eastern Congo.
Hammond’s work on international issues have been published by Forbes, Christian Science Monitor, International Business Times, Monocle magazine, The Diplomat, Naval War College Review, Africa Defense Review, and other publications
He is a former Fulbright fellow with the government of Malawi and a former Penn Kemble Forum Fellow at the National Endowment of Democracy. Hammond will use his fellowship to report on the role of the United States in Europe with respect to transatlantic defense ties.
