Nicole Johnson
Office and Communications Manager, Assistant to the Executive Director

Nicole Johnson manages the public profile of the Heinrich Böll Foundation North America, including the website, newsletter, and PR. She is responsible for communications and outreach and is the first point of contact for media inquiries. Nicole also manages office operations, oversees the internship program and application process, and provides support to the Executive Director.

Prior to this role, Nicole managed marketing and office operations for a German-American engineering consulting firm focused on sustainability. She also has experience in transatlantic relations and international politics, including internships with the Heinrich Böll Foundation North America, the American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and the US Embassy Bern as well as research assistantships with Georgetown University's Institute for the Study of International Migration (ISIM) and the University of Konstanz. Nicole holds an M.A. in German and European Studies from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a B.A. in Peace, War, & Defense and German Literature & Culture from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
