Sophie Heine
Senior Research Fellow, Egmont Institute

Sophie Heine is currently a Senior Research Fellow for the European affairs programme at Egmont Institute and a Research associate of the Centre for International Studies at Oxford University. She holds a bachelor in politics, a master in International Relations and a master in European politics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She did her PhD in European Politics at the European Studies Institute (ULB) and acomplished a post-doctoral research first at the ‘Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique’ and then in Oxford University (Balliol College and St Anthony’s College). She then had the opportunity to teach European politics and International relations as a full-time lecturer at Queen Mary, Universtiy of London. Sophie Heine has also been involved in various associations and movements in civil society dealing with poverty and social justice, gender or European federalism.
