11:00 AM-12:30 PM
The Heinrich Boell Foundation will host this panel on renewable heating and cooling during the “Solar Power International 2009”. The audience will learn about the future of the solar thermal heating and cooling market, with panel discussions on existing trends and policy incentives to spur development. The session will discuss the gap between the enormous potentials of these technologies and its current relevance in the energy production. For this, regional and international success stories will be compared with a focus on what electric and gas utilities can do to raise visibility of this technology. Speakers include Arne Jungjohann (Heinrich Boell Foundation), Andrew McAllister (California Center for Sustainable Energy), Gerhard Stryi-Hipp (Fraunhofer-Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE), and Christina Halfpenny (National Grid).
