Krista Sager, Member of the German Parliament for Alliance 90/The Greens and Spokesperson of the Green Parliamentary Group for Science, Technology and Research Policy, will travel to Washington, DC, New York and Chicago from May 27th to June 1st for political talks on technology innovation, science and higher education in light of current budgetary constraints.

Krista Sager has been a member of the German Bundestag for the Alliance 90/The Greens since 2002. Since November 2009 she has been the Spokeswoman for Science and Research Policy of the Alliance 90/The Greens parliamentary group in the Bundestag. Ms. Sager has also served as the Deputy Chair of her parliamentary group in the Bundestag and was spokeswomen for the working group on “knowledge and generations,” as well as a member of the Committee on Education and Research.

From 1997 to 2001 Ms. Sager served as Deputy Mayor, Senator for Science and Research and Senator for Equal Opportunities as part of a coalition government in the German city-state of Hamburg.

Prior to her political career, Ms. Sager worked in the field of adult education, teaching German and political sciences. She studied German linguistics and history at the University of Hamburg. She also has research working experience in Denmark that was funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
