Gisela Kallenbach, Speaker for Environment, Urban Development and European Politics, parliamentary group Alliance 90/The Green Party, Saxony, Germany

Gisela is a member of parliament of the German state of Saxony (East Germany) and former Member of the European parliament. While she will come to Washington to attend the National Prayer Breakfast (Feb 3) , she has a strong interest and expertise in the field of regional and local development strategies and energy policy. She is the speaker of the Saxony Greens parliamentary group for Environment, Urban Development and European Politics. In the European parliament she was a member of the committee on regional development.

On Monday January 31, Gisela will speak at Bridging the Gap, a lunch discussion organized by the Heinrich Boell Foundation and the German Marshall Fund to discuss how cities and states can foster low carbon growth and contribute to national climate mitigation. Also, Gisela will meet with American experts on regional development, climate and energy policy, as well as representatives from faith-based organizations to discuss the nexus of climate change, faith and environmental stewardship.
