Funded by the Heinrich Böll Foundation Washington, DC, this scholarship is open to students who are committed to furthering transatlantic cooperation and have demonstrated exceptional achievements and leadership qualities.
Our aim for the GAC is to create a platform that not only celebrates transatlantic exchange but also promotes understanding, acceptance, and equal representation for all. Therefore, we especially encourage students from underrepresented groups and students with limited financial resources to apply with the intent to create an enriched and diverse transatlantic community.
What do we offer?
- A scholarship to cover domestic travel costs to Boston
- Free conference admission
- If you do not have a place to stay in Boston, we will provide hotel accomodation
Application Requirements
Applicants should:
- Be interested in U.S.-German relations and transatlantic cooperation
- Be between the age of 18 and 30 years old
- Be a student enrolled in a full-time degree program at a university in the United States (students coming to the US for exchange would not be eligible). We accept any degree program and academic level.

- Resume (max. 2 pages)
- Certificate of enrollment at a U.S. university
- Answers to the following 3 questions (max. 200 words per question)
- How would you benefit from attending the GAC 2023?
- What issues are you passionate about and what is the unique perspective you would bring to the conference?
- Why are you interested in Germany or in transatlantic relations?
