Energy Transition

Energy transitions and green transformations are key focuses of our work. The gradual expansion of renewable energy sources will have considerable impacts on our energy system as we know it with regards to utilities, grid infrastructure, and energy efficiency. We encourage an intensified global and local dialogue around these issues and provide best practice examples through policy dialogue on the international, national, and local levels.

Ending Russia's war of aggression with economic and energy policy options

Commentary
The primary goal must be to stop the war of aggression on Ukraine launched by Russia on 24 February 2022. The sanctions of EU and NATO countries are currently in contrast to the dependence on Russian raw material and energy supplies. Hundreds of millions of euros flow from Germany to Russia every day, counteracting the effect of the sanctions. This should now be an incentive to reassess the costs of more radical fossil fuel exit scenarios in the shortest possible time under crisis conditions.

Energy Atlas: Figures and facts about renewables in Europe

The European Energy Atlas 2018 is published at a time when the EU Member States are discussing their energy and climate strategy until 2013. It thereby not only provides a compass on the differing energy discussions in Europe but also reveals how a Europeanization of the energy transition will be the more efficient and cost-effective option for all Europeans.
