Frances Montevilla (she/her/hers) is a second year student at the University of Virginia from Alexandria, Virginia. Her research interests include race and ethnicity, Indigeneity, migration, and activism with special focuses on Andean studies and decoloniality. She hopes to explore the intersections of German forms of memory and Indigenous ways of understanding the past in the Andes. Outside of the classroom, she is involved in the University Guide Service, undocUVA, and Political Latinxs United for Movement and Action in Society (PLUMAS).
