Lukas Winterhoff is a climate justice activist based in Frankfurt am Main. The protests against lignite mining in the Rhineland (North Rhine-Westphalia) started his climate activism in 2015. Besides climate struggles, he is also involved in anti-fascist and anti-militarist struggles, and supports other social movements with an intersectional approach, especially anti-racist, feminist and right to the city struggles.

Lukas has chosen to attend Goethe University Frankfurt to study philosophy and sociology due to his interest in Critical Theory (Frankfurt School) and to engage in political debates and actions. In addition to his studies, Lukas is active in trade union education. As an honorary advisor in the youth area of the industrial union Metall (IG Metall), he discusses with young employees their operational and social reality and encourages them to stand up for their interests as employees.
