Clemens Weiss works for energiezukunft, a magazine which reports on the energy transition in Germany. He is also an active member of the newly founded association, Energieblogger (energy bloggers). As an alumnus of Humboldt University Berlin and Greifswald University, he holds a bachelor's degree in Northern European Studies, political and social sciences and a master's degree in Sustainability Geography and Regional Development.
During his fellowship, Clemens will report on the issue of mountaintop removal. This method is used for coal mining in the Appalachian Mountains and in West Virginia and causes controversial discussions nationwide. He will also meet with experts on energy topics in Washington, DC to discuss and report on the differences between states' in implementing renewable energies, and on taking action to combat climate change.
