Dr. Cristiana Badulescu is a researcher and policy analyst with subject matter expertise on political-military affairs and cooperative security; prevention, management and resolution of conflicts, including mediation, transitional justice and peacebuilding; and women, peace and security. She is currently working with the International Military Staff at NATO HQ where she undertakes political-military work on issues affecting NATO’s cooperation with a selected number of partner nations. In addition, Cristiana contributes through volunteerism and advocacy to the advancement of human rights, gender equality and youth empowerment. She is a member of Women In International Security Brussels, co-leads the European Affairs branch of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy, a transatlantic youth non-profit, and has recently co-founded Sigma European Think Tank and next-generation leadership platform, focusing on international affairs, and with an inclusive, multi-disciplinary approach to policy creation and debate. Cristiana holds a PhD in Political Sciences, a MA in Conflict Studies, a BA in Law and has conducted field research in conflict-affected countries. In the past decade, she has worked at the European Commission in the Directorate Justice and Consumers as well as in a selected number of think tanks including The German Marshall Fund of the United States and The Barcelona Institute for International Relations.
