Dan Haugen is a Minneapolis-based freelance journalist who writes about energy, business and technology. Since 2011 he has reported on efficiency, renewables, transmission, and other topics as an energy journalism fellow at Midwest Energy News. His work has also been published by Ode, GOOD, and Ensia (formerly Momentum).
As a 2013 Heinrich Boell Foundation Climate Media Fellow, Dan reported on sustainability in Scandinavia, in particular how the business models of electric utilities have evolved to promote energy efficiency and innovation. Dan also profiled Qvinnovindar, a wind cooperative in Sweden operated entirely by women.
This fellowship was part of the EU funded Transatlantic Energy and Climate Network project.
