Emily Tamkin is a staff writer at Foreign Policy in Washington, D.C. She holds a B.A. in Russian literature from Colombia University and a Master’s degree in Russian and Eastern European Studies from the University of Oxford in the UK.  Emily will use her fellowship to report on civil society resistance movements of  young activists in Bucharest and Bratislava, refugee integration in Romania, and how journalists are navigating disinformation campaigns and political pressures in Slovakia.
