Giorgio Franceschini's work focusses on green foreign and security policy, especially in the fields of defence, arms control and new disruptive technologies. A theoretical physicist by training, Giorgio worked in the telecommunications industry, in peace research and was the chairman of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (2016-17). He is a member of the digital policy network of the Heinrich Boell Foundation, and has been sitting on the supervisory board of the foundation since 2022.
