Hannah Nesswetter works in two departments for the German Federation of Trade Unions in Freiburg. She is responsible for cooperation with universities and vocational schools. That includes a lot of union and political education and lobbying work. She is also the union secretary on the ground, where she mainly works with works councils and active union members across all sectors. She looks at the socio-ecological transformation as across-cutting issue in her work as a unionist. Therefore, she is advocating the socio-ecological transformation in the workplace, in union education and in relationship to work councils or other unionists. That also means collaborating with activists from Fridays for Future or other alliances.
One of Hannah’s project of the heart is the establishment of a socio-ecological tenement syndicate in Freiburg.
Hannah graduated in 2018 from Albert-Ludwig University Freiburg with a Master of Arts in Sociology with focus on globalization, gender studies and social inequality.
