Henry Jiménez Guanipa is a Venezuelan lawyer with over 25 years of experience in the energy industry, including oil and gas, renewable energy and energy efficiency. He received his LL.B. from the University Santa Maria (1986), his LL.M from the University of Heidelberg (2001) and his PhD from the Ruhr University Bochum (2010), Germany.
Henry is a professor for graduate studies in energy law, environmental law, climate change and human rights, and lectures at various universities and research institutions both in Europe and Latin America. Henry is also a consultant on energy issues and regulatory reforms, environment, climate change and sustainable development.
He is a founding member of the Ibero-American Colloquium of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg. He further co-founded and general coordinator of the International Network on energy, climate change and human rights (RICEDH) and the International Network of Lawyers for the American Integration (RIJIA). Currently, he is a member of the international law firm Wirth Rechtsanwälte in Mannheim, Germany.
