Originally from Pakistan, Ifra has studied in the United States and the United Kingdom, obtaining her undergraduate degree from Franklin and Marshall and her graduate degree from SOAS in London. She worked for a publishing agency in New York, before returning to Pakistan to advocate for the rights of women with a local NGO. She has since returned to graduate school to study public policy.
