Jose R. Rodriguez has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of El Concilio since 1996. El Concilio is a non-profit social service organization and affiliate of the National Council of La Raza established in 1968.
Under his direction El Concilio has increased programs and expanded services, increasing the agency budget from $1.2 million dollars to $10 million dollars per year to become the largest Latino community based organization in the Central Valley of California. El Concilio has received numerous local, state, and national awards for its programs and services. Many of El Concilio’s services are provided to immigrant and migrant communities working in the agriculture industry of the Central Valley.
As a result of his community involvement Mr. Rodriguez has received several personal recognitions such as 2012 NAACP Freedom Fighter Award, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Person of the Year Award in 2010 by Ministers and Community United, and in 2008 the University of Pacific presented Mr. Rodriguez the Distinguished Latino Alumni Award. Mr. Rodriguez is a graduate of the University of the Pacific and Humphreys School of Law. Mr. Rodriguez is also a member of the State Bar of California.
Mr. Rodriguez is also a nationally recognized leader and serves as the Chair of the NCLR Affiliate Council and is a Member of the NCLR Board of Directors. Married to his wife Carrie, they have four children and reside in Stockton.
