Joseph Dobbs works at NATO HQ as a Senior Officer in the Nuclear Policy Directorate, in the Defence Policy and Planning Division. In this role he supports NATO’s Nuclear Planning Group, and leads on NATO’s approach to emerging challenges to nuclear deterrence policy, the nuclear aspects of Finland and Sweden’s accession and the intersection between nuclear deterrence and arms control, amongst other issues.
Before joining NATO in July 2020, Joe worked in the UK Parliament, including as the principal adviser to the International Relations and Defence Committee. Joe has also worked with the UK Foreign Office, in think tanks, and has a postgraduate degree from the University of Oxford.
