Karen Kornbluh is founding Director of the Digital Innovation and Democracy Initiative and Senior Fellow at the German Marshall Fund. She served as U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and as policy director for then-Senator Barack Obama. She was Deputy Chief of at the U.S. Department of Treasury and Director of the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Federal Communications Commission. As Executive Vice President at research company Nielsen she created the company’s privacy program and foundation. She has published broadly on technology and social policy.
