Niklas Steinke is a researcher in digital geography at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, as well as a political scientist and activist. His PhD research focuses on data center expansion and its impacts on energy infrastructures, such as electrical grids, as well as land use and urban transformation. He is particularly interested in the politics of digital infrastructures and is part of an emerging activist network that critically engages with the power of Big Tech and advocates for technological development that prioritizes people’s needs.
