Nikolaos Vichos is a Climate and Energy Intern at the Heinrich-Boell-Stiftung Washington, DC. Nikolaos is responsible for assisting the foundation’s directors on current projects including ongoing publications and study tours. Additionally, he supports the Office Manager’s operations through administrative contributions.

Nikolaos is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Government with a concentration in Comparative Politics, with a minor in Spanish at Dartmouth College. Prior to joining the foundation as an intern, he interned at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece.

He is particularly interested in secessionism, populism, democratic erosion, and the intersection of the above with climate and energy policy. Parallel to his work at the foundation, he is conducting independent research on Western European independence movements, with fieldwork in Scotland and Catalonia.
