Ori Clara Isakowitsch is a critical AI researcher and educator who is based in Berlin. In their work they explore the social and environmental costs of AI and develop educational formats like workshop methods or open educational resources. Ori has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science as well as a masters degree in cognitive science. In May 2026 they will start a PhD at the University of Applied Sciences Wildau where they will research critical AI literacy frameworks. From 2023 to 2026 Ori worked on the project “KI-Ideenwerkstatt für Umweltschutz” (Eco AI Lab), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Environment. In this work they consulted environmental organisations on the sustainable use of AI in nature conservation projects. Ori also co-produced the comic “KI nachhaltig entwickeln? Seegurke sucht Seegraswiese” which talks about the environmental costs of AI throughout the AI lifecycle and was distributed to over 700 schools in Germany and exhibited in museums.
