Pedro H. Maniego, Jr. is the Chairman of the National Renewable Energy Board (NREB) in the Philippines, having been appointed in that position by President Benigno S. Aquino in September 2010. NREB’S mandate is to ensure the effective implementation of the Renewable Energy Act of 2008. Under his chairmanship, the FIT Rules, FIT Rates, FIT Eligibility Guidelines, and Net Metering Guidelines were finalized and approved. The mechanisms and guidelines for the Renewable Portfolio Standards, Green Energy Option, and FIT-All Collection & Disbursement are expected to be released within 2014. The NREB is also currently working on the differentiated FITs and coordinating with the National Transmission Corporation in the filing of the FIT-Allowance Petition.
