Richard A. Fuchs reports on energy, green tech & climate action. As an independent media professional, he contributes features & analysis for several German public service broadcasters – amongst them Deutschlandradio, Suedwestrundfunk (SWR), and Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR). He also works as a political correspondent for Germany's international broadcaster, Deutsche Welle.
Richard is an alumnus of the College of Europe in Bruges and the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He began his journalism career with a traineeship program at DW.COM, before beginning to work as a correspondent, editor and media consultant. In 2014, he won the German award for excellence in renewable energy reporting and has contributed since then on several award juries.
Richard Fuchs will report from the U.S. on the country's front-runner position in digitalizing the energy transition. He plans to take a look at digital solutions found in and around the Silicon Valley that may eventually make traditional power utilities something of the past. With this, the American Energiewende may well become a blueprint for future developments in Germany’s energy sector.
