Dr. Roderick Parkes is the Head of the Alfred von Oppenheim Centre for European Studies at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) in Berlin. A British national, he has worked for a range of government-affiliated think tanks in Berlin, Brussels, Warsaw, Stockholm and most recently Paris. There, he covered policies at the intersection between Europe’s internal and external security for the EU Institute for Security Studies, an agency of the European Union. He is a specialist in the international dimension of organised crime, terrorism and migration.
