Sonja Álvarez Sobreviela is a Berlin based journalist writing on technology, business and entrepreneurship, currently employed at the german daily newspaper "Der Tagesspiegel". Sonja studied Political Sciences, Economics and Media Studies at the universities of Göttingen and Geneva for which she was awarded the Foundation of German Business Fellowship. 

She continued her education at the German School of Journalism in Munich launching her career as a journalist. Ever since, she has had her work published by numerous outlets, amongst them Spiegel Online, Der Spiegel, Zeit Online and the Financial Times Deutschland. As a team member of Der Tagesspiegel's Business Department Sonja reports on Big Data, Social Networks and the vibrant Berlin start up scene, always on the lookout for how new technology shapes societies.
