Christian Schwalb works as a reporter and editor for Radio Bremen. His work focuses mostly on economic issues and in 2014, he received the “Medienpreis Logistik” (media logistics award) in the radio broadcasting category.
Christian Schwalb studied Economics at the Universities of Duisburg and Cologne. As a student, he worked as a local reporter for “Rheinische Post” and started his professional career at Radio Bremen. For six years, Christian worked as a reporter and editor in their radio broadcasting department. He also worked as a film-maker for the award-winning regional TV magazine program “bunten un binnen” before moving to the U.S. in 1999.
Christian lived in Washington, D.C. as an ARD correspondent, and then worked as a freelance author and journalist in New York. During his time in New York, Schwalb also acted as managing partner of the international journalists’ office “European Media” and as project manager at the New York office of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
