This dossier explores what needs to improve in order for green equity to become a powerful instrument to support a green and socially inclusive transformation.

Closing the digital divide has become a core objective of development policy. Digital infrastructure and technology features large in emerging connectivity and digital transformation strategies, from the EU’s Global Gateway to the U.S.-led Build Back Better World. This dossier discusses pathways to a needs- and values-based approach to working with partner countries. This approach does not stop at providing hardware but enables a digital life that’s good for people and the planet.

There is well-founded hope that widespread vaccination against Covid-19 will bring the long-awaited pandemic relief. Much now depends on ensuring rapid and broad access to vaccines globally. 

This project aims to inform and connect policymakers, academics, and civil society in digital governance debates, with a special focus on amplifying voices from the Global South.
